Volunteer opportunity description

Do you want to help young refugees adjust to life in the United States and empower them to meet their goals? We are looking for volunteers who want to have fun and do good at the same time by mentoring a refugee youth. You can have a huge impact on the life of a young refugee with just a few hours a month. Enjoy hobbies, have interesting conversations, and go out and explore Chicago together! This position requires passing a background check, attaending an orientation, and a minimum commitment of at at least one year.

Requirements

• Complete an application
• Do a phone interview
• Get fingerprinted for an Illinois State Police and FBI background check
• Get screened through the Illinois Child Abuse & Neglect Tracking System
• Complete a Mandated Reporter Training
• Attend a Volunteer Orientation
